A couple of weeks ago I was going to the cafeteria at work (walking outside) and someone pointed out that there were a lot of dragonflies and that she had never seen so many. It reminded me of the fireflies and the significance of that. I actually attended a wedding a year ago with a firefly theme. When I got home that evening I noticed a lady bug in my house. I also realize that my spirit guide Meryl appears to me with wings that resemble a firefly and I realized that she is sort of a firefly fairy.
Looking online for meaning, dragonflies symbolize a number of things, including of the idea that change may be on the horizon. The site Spirit Animals and Animal Totems suggests that dragonflies signify transformation. Fireflies are representative of illumination. The ladybug is generally thought to bring good luck, and what I learned at another website is that it may suggest that things are beginning to materialize.
I love Fairies, and of course, when I see the dragonfly in my mind’s eye, or any of these creatures for that matter, there is always a natural backdrop. Such things are all a part of nature, making the observation feel even more magical.
